01 / overview
chessero is how i’m learning rust properly: a chess engine written from scratch, with a tauri desktop app and a svelte interface on top.
right now it knows the board and how the pieces move. it doesn’t know how to play well yet, and that’s the fun part still ahead.
02 / what it does
- 01
board logic
the core board representation that everything else builds on.
- 02
move generation
pseudo-legal moves for every piece, generated by the rust core.
- 03
attack detection
knowing which squares are under attack, the groundwork for check and checkmate.
- 04
a native shell
a tauri app with a svelte ui, so the engine runs natively on the desktop.
03 / how it’s built
- Rust
- Tauri
- Svelte
